The purpose of this piece of work was to borrow colors from a simple image, to create a poster. First, I opened my flower image in photoshop. I then used the magnetic lasso tool to trace along the outside of the flower. I then inversed the selection and deleted the background. I then used the eye dropper tool to find a color for the background. I then filled then used the gradient tool/ paint bucket tool and filled the background. After I created a rectangular box at the bottom of my poster and used the eyedropper tool to pick a color fro the flower. I then added a text box to the rectangular box. I then used the eyedropper tool to find a good font color from the flower. Then I chose a font that I thought was elegant because I think the overall poster has an elegant look to it. I wrote Cosmo Flower, because that is the kind of flower it is. I am pleased with the outcome of my poster, I think it looks simple, but also aesthetically pleasing.
